Luxury Egypt Tours

The premise

What we mean by “luxury” — and what we won’t claim

There’s a moment that catches almost every traveller off guard in Egypt. Not the first sight of the pyramids — you’ve seen those a thousand times on screens. It’s the second look. The one where you register the scale, the heat coming off the limestone, the fact that people were building this while most of the world was still figuring out the wheel.

We can’t manufacture that moment for you. What we can do is make sure nothing gets in its way.

At Egypt Luxury Trips, we design luxury Egypt tours around a simple idea: the country is extraordinary enough on its own, so our job is logistics, timing, and access — not spectacle. Whether you’re flying in from New York, London, Toronto, Sydney or Frankfurt, you’ll want the same things: a route that makes sense, days that aren’t rushed, and somebody local who actually answers the phone.

This page walks you through our full collection of Egypt experiences, how they fit together into a luxury Egypt itinerary, and exactly what we confirm before you commit to anything.

Plenty of companies use luxury as decoration. We’d rather be specific about it.

Our collection is built from individual, bookable experiences — pyramids, temples, tombs, Nile sailings, museums, balloon flights, shore excursions — that we assemble into a journey shaped around you. That’s the core of tailor-made Egypt tours: you’re not slotted into someone else’s departure date.

And here’s the part most sites skip. Details like pricing, hotel names, guide arrangements, meals, transfers and flight inclusions vary by season, by group size, and by how you want the trip built. So rather than publish numbers that go stale or promises we haven’t costed for your dates, we confirm all of it in writing when you enquire. You’ll get real figures, not a “from” price with an asterisk.

That’s not us being cagey. It’s the difference between a quote and a guess.

Luxury Nile cruise Egypt: our two sailings

A luxury Nile cruise Egypt journey isn’t just transport between Luxor and Aswan. It’s the part of the trip where the pace finally drops and the temples come to you.

We run two directions. Which direction you sail changes how the trip feels. Ending in Aswan is a wind-down; ending in Luxor is a crescendo. Neither is wrong — it usually comes down to your flights home.

The collection in detail

Every experience, city by city.

Each block below lists the experiences we run in that part of Egypt, and what each one covers. Combine them in any order you like.

Cairo and the Giza Pyramids

The classic opening act. Great Pyramid, Sphinx, and — depending on how deep you want to go — the older, stranger pyramids at Dahshur and Saqqara that most first-timers never reach.

The Cairo-to-Luxor day flight deserves a note. If your Egypt window is short — a stopover, a business trip with two spare days — flying down to Luxor and back in one day is genuinely possible. Ambitious? Slightly. Worth it? Ask anyone who’s stood inside Karnak.

Aswan and Abu Simbel

Aswan runs at a different tempo — softer light, granite islands, Nubian colour. It’s where most travellers stop checking their watches.

Abu Simbel by road or by flight? Both are in our collection because both make sense for different travellers. The road version is a long day and a proper journey through the desert; the flight version buys back most of that time. We’ll talk you through which suits your schedule.

Honeymoons, families and small groups

Different travellers use the same collection very differently.

Couples and honeymooners tend to weight the trip toward the Nile — a cruise, a felucca hour at sunset, a balloon at dawn. We’ve written separately about luxury honeymoon packages in Egypt.

Families usually want variety and movement: camel rides, quad bikes, boats to the Nubian village, shorter museum visits.

Small groups of friends often go deeper on history, adding the West Bank sites and the temples beyond the standard route.

Tell us who’s travelling and we’ll shape the days accordingly.

Putting it together

Turning the collection into a luxury Egypt itinerary

Here’s how travellers typically combine these. Consider these frameworks rather than fixed packages — the sequencing, timings and logistics are confirmed for your dates.

How the experiences combine, by trip length
Trip length Shape Built from
Short (3–4 days)Cairo focusGiza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, Egyptian Museum and Old Cairo, optional Luxor day flight
Classic (7–8 days)Cairo + Luxor + AswanPyramids days, full-day Luxor, Valley of the Kings, Philae, Abu Simbel
Cruise-led (8–10 days)Cairo + Nile sailingCairo touring, then the 4-night Luxor–Aswan cruise with temple stops
In-depth (12–14 days)Everything, unhurriedDahshur and Saqqara, both Luxor banks, Dendera and Abydos, Esna and El Kab, cruise, Abu Simbel

Notice what the longer trips buy you: not more monuments per day, but fewer. Dendera, Abydos, Esna, El Kab, the Tombs of the Nobles — these are the sites that separate a good Egypt trip from an unforgettable one, and they’re the first casualties of a rushed schedule.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in a luxury Egypt tour?

It depends on which experiences you choose from our collection and how we assemble them. Because inclusions shift with itinerary, season and group size, we itemise everything — touring, transfers, entries, meals — in your written proposal rather than publishing a generic list.

How much does a luxury Egypt tour cost?

We don’t publish a flat figure, because a four-day Cairo trip and a fourteen-day cruise itinerary aren’t remotely comparable. Send us your dates, traveller count and the experiences you’re drawn to, and we’ll come back with real numbers.

What is the best time of year for a luxury Egypt tour?

Egypt’s cooler months are the traditional window for temple-heavy touring, and they’re also the busiest. We’ll advise on the trade-off between comfort and crowds once we know your travel window.

How many days are enough for a luxury Egypt itinerary?

Around seven to eight days covers Cairo, Luxor and Aswan properly. Ten or more lets you add a Nile cruise and the quieter temples. Under four, we’d focus you on Cairo — possibly with the Luxor day flight.

Are luxury Egypt tours private or small group tours?

Our collection is designed to be assembled around you rather than around fixed departures. Some experiences are explicitly private, such as our Abu Simbel private tour by road. We’ll confirm the format of each element in your proposal.

Do luxury Egypt tours include a private Egyptologist guide?

Guiding arrangements are confirmed per experience when we build your itinerary, so you’ll know exactly who’s with you and for which days before you commit.

Which luxury Nile cruise is best in Egypt?

We offer two sailings: four nights from Luxor to Aswan, and three nights from Aswan to Luxor. “Best” usually comes down to how much time you have and where your onward flight leaves from.

Is a Dahabiya cruise better than a large luxury Nile cruise?

Smaller vessels offer intimacy; larger ones offer more onboard facilities. Our current published sailings are the 4-night and 3-night Luxor–Aswan cruises. If you’re specifically after a boutique or Dahabiya-style experience, raise it in your enquiry and we’ll advise on what’s workable for your dates.

Do luxury Egypt packages include Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan?

They can — that’s the classic circuit, and our collection covers all three cities in depth. You’re not obliged to take all three, though. Some travellers focus entirely on Luxor and Aswan.

Is Abu Simbel included in luxury Egypt tour packages?

It’s available two ways: privately by road or by flight. Whether it’s built into your package is your call — we’d gently suggest yes.

Are domestic flights included in luxury Egypt tours?

Some of our experiences are flight-based by design, including the Cairo-to-Luxor day trip and Abu Simbel by flight. Whether additional internal flights form part of your package is confirmed in your written itinerary.

Which 5-star hotels are used on luxury Egypt tours?

We match hotels to the standard you’re after and name them in your proposal — because the right property depends on your dates, your budget and which city you’re in. Tell us your preferences and we’ll confirm specifics.

Can I customise a luxury Egypt itinerary?

That’s the entire premise. Every trip we build is assembled from the individual experiences on this page, in the order and at the pace that suits you.

Are luxury Egypt tours suitable for families?

Very. Camel and quad-bike rides at Giza, the motorboat trip to the Nubian village, felucca sailing and shorter museum visits all work well when younger travellers are involved.

Are luxury Egypt honeymoon packages available?

Yes — honeymoon trips are a regular request, and we’ve covered the subject in more depth in our guide to luxury honeymoon packages in Egypt.

Can a luxury Egypt tour include a Red Sea beach stay?

Our current published Red Sea coast experiences are the Safaga day trip and 2-day tour to Luxor. If you’d like a beach extension built in, mention it in your enquiry and we’ll tell you what’s possible.

Do luxury Egypt tours include airport transfers and visas?

Transfers are itemised in your proposal. Visa requirements depend on your nationality, so we’ll point you to the correct official process for your passport rather than guessing on your behalf.

Is Egypt safe for luxury travellers?

It’s a fair question and one we prefer to answer properly rather than with a one-line reassurance. Send us your specific concerns along with your dates, and we’ll respond directly.

What should I pack for a luxury Nile cruise in Egypt?

Light layers, comfortable closed shoes for temple floors, sun protection, and something warmer for evenings on deck. We’ll send guidance tailored to your travel month with your itinerary.

How far in advance should I book a luxury Egypt tour?

Earlier is better, particularly for peak-season cruise cabins and balloon flights. If your dates are already fixed, enquire now and we’ll check live availability before anything is confirmed.

Next step

Send us your enquiry, and let’s start building it.

No deposit, no pressure, no obligation. Just a proper conversation about what your Egypt should look like.
