Your journey begins at the Safaga Port cruise exit, where an Egypt Luxury Trips representative meets you holding a name sign. Pickup is coordinated with your ship’s arrival time. You then travel toward Luxor in your private air-conditioned vehicle. The drive takes approximately three hours and crosses the Eastern Desert. Bottled water is available in the vehicle during the day.
Your first major visit in Luxor is the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank. With your licensed Egyptologist guide, you enter the royal burial area where New Kingdom pharaohs were buried in rock-cut tombs decorated with religious scenes connected with the journey into the afterlife. The standard entrance ticket included in the tour allows entry to three open tombs. Special-entry tombs, including Tutankhamun’s Tomb and Seti I’s Tomb, require separate tickets and can be requested as optional additions. The tombs include sloped interior passages, so closed and comfortable shoes are recommended.
After the Valley of the Kings, you continue to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari. The temple is known for its three terraces and its dramatic setting beneath the surrounding cliffs. Your guide explains the story of Queen Hatshepsut and points out details in the surviving reliefs, including scenes connected with her expedition to the Land of Punt.
You then make a short photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon. These two monumental seated statues once stood in front of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. The stop gives you time to see and photograph the statues before continuing with the rest of your Luxor itinerary.
Lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor is included in the tour. Drinks with lunch are not included and can be requested separately.
After lunch, you cross to Luxor’s East Bank to visit Karnak Temple. Your guide leads you through this extensive temple complex and explains its development by successive Egyptian rulers. Among the features included in the visit are the Great Hypostyle Hall, with its 134 papyrus-shaped columns, the ram-headed sphinxes and Hatshepsut’s granite obelisk. The private format gives you the opportunity to experience the site with your own guide rather than as part of a shared coach group.
In the late afternoon, you leave Luxor for the return drive to Safaga. The journey is timed around your ship’s all-aboard schedule. You return directly to the Safaga Port cruise exit without a dinner stop. When submitting your enquiry, provide your cruise schedule so the pickup and return arrangements can be confirmed.
This is not a shared coach excursion. Your vehicle carries only your party, and your Egyptologist guide accompanies you throughout the day. This gives you greater flexibility at each stop and allows the pace to be adjusted according to your group.
Pickup at Safaga Port is aligned with your ship’s arrival time. The return journey is also planned around the ship’s all-aboard time, and your departure from Luxor can be adjusted when necessary.
Your private licensed Egyptologist guide accompanies you through the main archaeological sites and explains the history and details of the places included in the itinerary.
The tour includes port pickup and drop-off, private air-conditioned transportation, guide services, standard entrance tickets, lunch, bottled water, taxes and service charges.

Any requested changes should be discussed in advance so an updated quotation can be provided before confirmation.
Light, breathable clothing and closed comfortable shoes are recommended. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are also recommended. For visits between December and February, we recommend carrying an additional layer for cooler desert mornings.
