Our Aswan Luxor tour brings together three nights aboard a Nile cruise and four days of guided sightseeing, beginning in Aswan and finishing in Luxor. Along the way, you visit Philae, Kom Ombo and Edfu before exploring Karnak, Luxor Temple and the archaeological sites of Luxor’s West Bank.
At Egypt Luxury Trips, we arrange your cruise cabin, guided visits, onboard meals and the transfers specified in the itinerary as one journey. The same Egyptologist accompanies your guided sightseeing, connecting the places you visit as you travel north along the Nile. You can see the full programme on our 3-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor tour page.
Your cabin and guide are private, while the cruise ship carries other passengers. This is a privately guided cruise itinerary, rather than a charter of the entire vessel.

Your Four-Day Aswan Luxor Itinerary
From the granite quarries of Aswan to the royal tombs of Luxor, each day pairs sightseeing with time on the water. Here is how the four days unfold.
Day 1: Aswan Sightseeing and Cruise Embarkation

Your tour begins in Aswan with visits to the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple before you board your Nile cruise.
At the Aswan High Dam, your guide introduces the modern chapter of the city’s relationship with the Nile. You then continue to the ancient granite quarries to see the Unfinished Obelisk, still partly attached to the bedrock. The unfinished monument and its visible tool marks give your guide a setting for explaining ancient stone-working.

The route then takes you to Philae Temple using the included motorboat transfer. This part of the programme brings a journey on the water into your first day of sightseeing. Philae is dedicated to the goddess Isis, and its temples were moved to their present island setting when the High Dam raised the water level. The site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing for the Nubian Monuments from Abu Simbel to Philae.
After your Aswan visits, you embark on the cruise for the first of your three nights aboard. We include embarkation assistance as part of the arrangements.
Day 2: A Free Morning in Aswan, Kom Ombo and Sailing to Edfu
The second day begins with leisure time in Aswan. You can use the morning to browse the market, as suggested in the itinerary. Travelers who have arranged the optional Abu Simbel excursion can use this part of the programme for that visit before the ship departs.
Lunch is served aboard as your cruise sails toward Kom Ombo. After docking, you join your Egyptologist for a visit to the temple, whose paired layout and double dedication distinguish it from the other monuments along your route.

Kom Ombo honours two gods side by side, Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the Elder, which is why the temple is arranged in two mirrored halves.
Following the visit, you return to the ship and continue toward Edfu. Tea on the sun deck and dinner aboard form part of the afternoon and evening programme. Your cruise stays near Edfu overnight.
Day 3: Edfu Temple, Esna and Luxor’s East Bank

Your day begins with a horse-carriage transfer from the dock to the Temple of Horus at Edfu. During the guided visit, you explore the temple, one of the best-preserved in Egypt, before returning to the cruise for breakfast. You can also see this stretch of the river on our Edfu and Kom Ombo tour from Luxor.
The journey then continues through Esna toward Luxor. Sailing time connects the morning’s visit at Edfu with the next stage of your itinerary, with arrival in Luxor scheduled for the evening.
In Luxor, your guided programme includes Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple. These two East Bank visits bring another dimension to the journey after Aswan, Kom Ombo and Edfu.

After sightseeing, you return to the ship for dinner and spend your final cruise night in Luxor. If you would like an evening at Karnak, you can ask us about the optional Karnak Temple Sound and Light Show.
Day 4: Luxor’s West Bank and Departure
After breakfast, you disembark and continue with your guide to Luxor’s West Bank.
Your first listed visit is the Valley of the Kings, followed by Hatshepsut’s Temple and a stop at the Colossi of Memnon. These visits complete the sightseeing programme before your onward transfer.

Your included drop-off can be at Luxor Airport, the railway station or your next hotel in Luxor, according to the arrangements confirmed for your journey. Breakfast is the only meal included on this final day.
Your Cabin, Meals and Guided Cruise Experience

Three nights of accommodation in a private cruise cabin are included in this Aswan Luxor tour package. The vessel is shared with other passengers, while your guided sightseeing is arranged privately.
The meal plan is full board, with breakfast, lunch and dinner during the cruise and breakfast only on the final day. Drinks and meals not served aboard are excluded.
The same Egyptologist accompanies your guided stops throughout the route. This gives continuity to the sightseeing programme: you explore Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu and Luxor with a guide who follows the journey with you.
Before confirming your trip, discuss your cabin category and any dietary requirements with our team. These are among the details identified for confirmation in the tour arrangements.
